Shorts!: Film Reviews Done Quickly (Announcement)

Sometimes I do not have a lot to say about a film that I have watched. Since starting this blog back in April, I have watched more films than I have reviewed. I know that I should review everything that I watch but that just doesn't happen. The reason for this is because I may not have enough to say about a film to warrant a full review. This is why I have come up with Shorts!: Film Reviews Done Quickly. I am going to include three to five shorter reviews inside of each Shorts! review and it will allow me to still talk about a film, just in a smaller package. I am really happy about this announcement. I think that you guys will too. Let me know what you think and we can see what happens then. -Jimmy P

The Trailer Park: Snake Eyes (1998)

I want to get this out of the way before anything else: Snake Eyes is not a good film. There are many good to great things about Snake Eyes, but taken on its own merit, Snake Eyes just does do much with what it is given. The film opens with a "oner" that takes us to everywhere we are going to go to throughout the film and also introduces us to the characters as well. This shot is so impressive that the film can not live up to it. The film settles into a standard thriller arch that we don't really care about. The film is impressive technically. Brian DePalma has been making films like this for decades and knows how to string us along. This trailer sold me on the film, but I found myself bored and uninterested. Give the trailer a watch and decide. Snake Eyes Trailer by thebigmoviehouse
