Atragon Theatrical Trailer

I am presenting the Atragon Trailer to you. If you have not seen this film, you must. The film is directed by Ishiro Honda, who is the man who brought us Godzilla. He is also the man who brought us so many wonderful Science Fiction films during the 50s, 60s, and 70s. The trailer is a great representation of the film and worth a look. This trailer has no subtitles.

The 7 Grandmasters Trailer

It has been a while since I have seen this film and, while it is not the best martial arts film out there, it is not too shabby either. The martial arts on display are photographed nice and the fight scenes are exciting. The film was made in the 70's so it has that 70's vibe to it. This is a film that is better if watched dubbed rather than in its original language. There is just something about dubs from back then that have a charm to them.

Sully Theatrical Trailer and Poster

Warner Bros. has released a trailer for Sully, from director Clint Eastwood and starring Tom Hanks as the titular character.

Plot: On January 15, 2009, the world witnessed the "Miracle on the Hudson" when Captain "Sully" Sullenberger (Tom Hanks) glided his disabled plane onto the frigid waters of the Hudson River, saving the lives of all 155 aboard. However, even as Sully was being heralded by the public and the media for his unprecedented feat of aviation skill, an investigation was unfolding that threatened to destroy his reputation and his career.

Also starring in the film are Anna Gunn, Aaron Eckhart, Sam Huntington, and Laura Linney.

I honestly did not think that this story was worth making a film out of, but judging by the trailer, I may be wrong. Eastwood is a talented director, and even when he is giving us utter crap like American Sniper, he gives us something within the film to focus on. I have a feeling that Sully might actually be a good film.

The 9th Life of Louis Drax Trailer

Summit Premiere and Miramax have given us the first trailer for The 9th Life of Louis Drax.

Plot: After surviving eight near-death accidents throughout his unlucky life, Louis Drax plunges off a steep cliff on his ninth birthday. While police investigate the cause of Louis’ near-fatal fall and the whereabouts of his violent father Peter, acclaimed neurologist Dr. Allan Pascal uses unorthodox techniques to try to tap into the boy’s unconscious mind and reveal the truth about the events that led to his condition. But as he’s drawn deeper and deeper into the mystery of Louis’ seeming ability to cheat death, the doctor finds himself falling for Louis’ mother, Natalie. As new clues emerge in the case, a shocking revelation changes the fates of Louis Drax and everyone around him.

The film stars Aaron Paul, Jamie Dornan, Sarah Gadon, and Aiden Longworth.

The film is directed by Alexandre Aja (The Hills Have Eyes (2006), Piranha 3-D) and written by Max Minghella, who worked with Aja on Horns…

Star Trek Beyond Trailer

Paramount has released a brand new trailer for Star Trek Beyond. This will probably be the last trailer as the film is being released in a little less than a month.

Plot: The USS Enterprise crew explores the furthest reaches of uncharted space, where they encounter a mysterious new enemy who puts them and everything the Federation stands for to the test.

The film brings back Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, Karl Urban, John Cho, Simon Pegg, and the late Anton Yelchin. New to the series is Idris Elba.

The film is directed by Justin Lin, who directed four of the Fast and Furious films, and was written by Simon Pegg and Doug Jung.

The film will be released into theaters in 2D, 3D, IMAX and Large Format Theaters on June 22nd, 2016.

I am not the biggest fan of this Star Trek series of films, but I am willing to give this film a go. I think it looks good and, with Simon Pegg writing the script, it will interesting where the series is taken.

25th Hour Trailer

I present to you the trailer for 25th Hour, a film that Spike Lee directed back in 2002. The film tells the story of Monty, a drug dealer spending his last night of freedom with his friends, while settling his business before heading off to prison.

This movie is a masterpiece. It barely missed my films of all time. This would have been number 11. Everyone should see this film at least once.

Nightbreed Trailer (also new YouTube channel)

I have started a YouTube channel. I thought that it would be appropriate to upload trailers that I love and then share them with my readers. The first trailer that I have put up on the channel is the trailer for Nightbreed. Anyone who knows me or has read my Top Ten Favorite Films of All Time list will know that I love Nightbreed. So enjoy the trailer and visit the channel for new trailers and other surprises.

The Toxic Avenger Trailer

Troma will always hold a special place in my heart. I grew up watching their films and still am a supporter to this day. This is one of my favorite trailers that they have put out. Enjoy.

Lights Out Trailer

Warner Bros. has released the second trailer for Lights Out, a supernatural horror film, produced by James Wan (The Conjuring)

Plot: When Rebecca left home, she thought she left her childhood fears behind. Growing up, she was never really sure of what was and wasn't real when the lights went out...and now her little brother, Martin, is experiencing the same unexplained and terrifying events that had once tested her sanity and threatened her safety. A frightening entity with a mysterious attachment to their mother, Sophie, has reemerged. But this time, as Rebecca gets closer to unlocking the truth, there is no denying that all their lives are in danger...once the lights go out.

The film is directed by David F. Sandberg, who directed the short, of the same, that the film is based on. He is gearing up to direct Annabelle 2. The original Lights Out short is pretty damn good, so it will be interesting to see if it can make the jump to feature length.

The film stars  Teresa Palmer, Gabr…

Ouija: Origin of Fear

Universal Pictures has released the first trailer for Ouija: Origin of Evil. The film stars Elizabeth Reaser, Henry Thomas, and Kate Siegel, and was directed by Mike Flanagan.

Flanagan has directed some good horror films including Oculus, Hush, and Before I Wake. This bodes well for the film, but the first film relied too much on jump scares. Here's hoping that this film is better than the first.

Ouija: Origin of Fear is due to hit theaters on October 21st, 2016

Mechanic: Resurrection Trailer

This film has been a long time coming, the film was supposed to be released this past January but production didn't start until late last year, and we now have a full trailer.

Mechanic: Resurrection Trailer

Plot Details: Arthur Bishop thought he had put his murderous past behind him when his most formidable foe kidnaps the love of his life. Now he is forced to travel the globe to complete three impossible assassinations, and do what he does best, make them look like accidents.

The trailer looks ok. It seems like there is a lot going on, but the presentation is a little muffled. Summit Entertainment's trailer editors must think that the film is a direct-to-video release because that was the vibe that I got from the trailer. Don't get me wrong, I am looking forward to the film, as I do with any Jason Statham film, but I think that the trailer could have been edited better.

The film stars Jason Statham, Tommy Lee Jones, Jessica Alba, and Michelle Yeoh. The release date for th…

No Retreat, No Surrender Coming to Blu-ray this Fall

Kino Lorber, who has been doing some really good work lately after a rocky start, has announced that they will be releasing 1986's cult classic No Retreat, No Surrender on blu-ray this fall.

The film is well known for being the first Jean-Claude Van Damme feature film, although I have heard that he shows up at the beginning and at the end. Nonetheless, the film has garnered a cult following and also introduced the U.S. to Corey Yuen, who would be reintroduced a decade later when he worked with Jet Li on Romeo Must Die and Lethal Weapon 4.

While specs and features haven't been finalized, we do know that the blu-ray will include 2 versions of the film: the American version and the international version. There will also be an interview with with star Kurt McKenny.

This is great news. I have never seen No Retreat and have always wanted to. I ran across the VHS in my local video store when I was a kid and wanted to rent it but never got the chance to. I don't think that there w…

Top Ten Films of 2015

2015 was an especially great year for films. There were more films that I liked rather than hated. Sure, there are those films too, but this is a Top 10 list, not a bottom ten list.

Top Ten Films of 2015
10.) Going Clear: Scientology and the Prison of Belief
I am not against anyone’s beliefs. I have my own and so do a lot of other people. It is a good thing to have beliefs and if yours deals in a higher power than that is a great thing. The problem with beliefs is when they turn into religion. Religion is a man-made thing and is fallible by its very definition. Religion is not that great of a thing when you think about it, but that is a subject for another day. Going Clear examines all the bullshit that Scientology has been giving us for the last decade. The film starts with the founding of Scientology by L. Ron Hubbard and goes to the present day. We are shown the routines that members have to go through, but the most damaging is the section about the head of Scientology and his missin…

Mark of the Devil (1970) Trailer

Mark of the Devil is a nasty little piece of film. The film is about a witch hunter played Udo Kier. That should be enough to get you in the door, but the film has another ace up its sleeve: Graphic violence including rape and torture. The trailer gives you some of the good stuff, but the film holds so much more.
