What's It About?
THE SLIPPERIEST, SEXIEST CARWASH IN TOWN!
What happens when you put a bunch of bodacious California babes behind the wheel of a busy carwash? Jack McGowan's (Joe Dusic) about to get the wild and wacky answer! When the naive Midwesterner comes to L.A. to run his ailing uncle's carwash, he makes a few wrong turns and ends up at the beach. He is rescued by foxy business major Melissa Reeves (Kristi Ducati, Intimate Obsession), who convinces Jack to let her run the business for a cut of the action. Things get hilariously out of hand as Melissa and her bubbly friends 'dress for success' in the skimpiest bikinis - or nothing at all! (The Bikini Carwash Company)
THEY'RE BACK... AND BUSINESS IS HOTTER THAN EVER!
Just when you thought it was safe to ask for extra wax, those wild washing women are back for more sudsy fun. When a weaselly business magnate tries to buy out the carwash, the gals turn to a cable lingerie business to raise some needed funds and when they pose, more than funds get raised! (The Bikini Carwash Company II)

Video/Audio
According to MVD, both of the BIKINI CARWASH COMPANY films were shot on video but I don't know about that. They both look like they were shot on cheaper film stock and probably shot with the camera that shows up in the films. I'll bet they were edited on video, though, and that no film print could be found. This is just my theory as there is no evidence to prove or disprove this theory, as imdb has no information.
That being said, because these are only available through VHS tapes, and thus in standard definition, MVD decided, against the voices of the fans, to upscale the picture to 1080p with AI. This has been a sore spot for video hounds as it doesn't produce the best results. Fred Olen Ray, through his video label Retromedia, decided to upscale the shot-on-video SCREAM QUEENS HOT TUB PARTY with AI, and the results were disastrous. Everything was smooth and soft, and it was one of the few times when the standard definition source was better in every way.
How does the upscaling look here?
It's not bad. It's not all that great either, but it could have been a helluva lot worse. I will say that the picture is clearer. We can see some detail here and there. I was actually kind of impressed that it wasn't a train wreck. The sources for both films are interlaced and I don't think MVD did very much in the way of deinterlacing the video before doing the upscaling which leads to some very ugly instances of interlacing. The last screenshot for the first film shows what I am talking about.
There is also some really ugly edge enhancement as well. Many of the screenshots feature this although it isn't there all the time.
Now, MVD was smart enough to go back and include the original SD versions of both films so we aren't stuck with the upscales. Sure, the SD versions look like shit but at least they aren't upscales and look more like what we remember from the 90s.

The Bikini Carwash Company
Commentary with Jim Wynorski and Heath Holland (found in Audio menu) I do not like Heath Holland. I am sure he is a nice person but he comes across as someone who is into physical media for the free product. He's not nearly as bad as the Films at Home guy, who is insufferable, but I still don't like him. I wish he wasn't here. I would have loved to hear Wynorski speak on the track solo.

The packaging for this double feature has nice touches to it, mainly on the slipcover. The slipcover features the original poster art for both films along with some stickers various video stores used to place on the VHS covers telling us to "Be Kind Rewind" while warning us "This Film is NOT Recommended for Children. The slipcover is also "dirty", giving the cover the look of a long warn VHS cover. This is a nice touch I appreciate.
The front cover features the same art as the front just without the stickers and "dirt."
The disc is REGION FREE

Overall
Having grown up in the 80s and 90s, I have very fond memories of THE BIKINI CARWASH COMPANY films. I remember seeing the VHS covers in the video store all the time and when I was able to rent them, they did not disappoint. These are 90s sex comedies with tons of nudity, sex scenes, and goofy characters doing goofy things. Both films are exactly what you think they are with a name like THE BIKINI CARWASH COMPANY. These films are worth checking out.
This release is ok at best. The picture quality of the HD versions is hit and miss, more miss, but the audio quality is pretty good. The SD versions are the way to go unless you can look past the problems with the HD versions. MVD didn't include much in the way of special features outside of commentary track that was hard to listen to my dislike of Heath Holland and some trailers for other MVD releases. Is this release worth the money? Yes. It brings both films to Blu-ray and I can geet behind that. Just watch the SD versions and enjoy yourself.
