BASEketball was a flop when it was released in the summer of 1998. That should deter you from watching this film as it is very funny. Trey Parker and Matt Stone are perfect as they bring their own comedic sensibilities to the film and much of the humor comes from them.
Read moreViking films were big in the 50's and 60's and Erik the Conqueror is Mario Bava's take on the subgenre. The film looks great, but doesn't really give us any great characters that we can relate to. The action scenes are pretty good though, so I guess it is a toss up between a good looking film and a good film. That…
Read moreThe Slayer is a nice little slasher film that takes dream into account inside of it's madness. The film has a very creeping feel to it and the filmmakers are able to keep this feeling all the way until the end. The effects are really well done and kind of gross at the same time.
Read moreI am not that fond of Ronin. I was excited to see the film in the theater upon it's release in 1998. When I walked out of the theater I had mixed feelings. The film looked great, sounded great, had great actor doing great acting, and yet I found the film lackluster.
Read moreWarlock is definitely a product of the 80's (even though the film wasn't released until 1991) Lots of witchcraft going on and the effects remind us of the 80's. The film is really good and I can recommended it wholeheartedly. The sequels, on the other hand, are awful. The second one has some good ideas hampered with ba…
Read moreThe Dead Next Door is a passion project from a filmmaker who didn't care about the fame or the money. He just wanted to make a horror film that he could show around town. He not only did this, but he got his entire town (Arkin, Ohio) to get in on the action and be a part of the film as it was being made.
Read moreRe-Animator is an all time classic in the horror genre. Here was a film that giving us the goods while making us laugh. There were not many horror films that did that. It also helped that the film was so gory that the filmmakers didn't even submit it to the ratings board because they knew they would get a "X" rating …
Read moreCreepozoids is a fun as hell monster movie that knows how to show us a good time. The creature effects are a bit hokey and the acting is a bit odd at times, but director David DeCoteau is sure in his abilities to deliver the film that we came to see. Creepozoids delivers on every promise it makes and doesn't shy away from show…
Read moreTroma's War is not the masterpiece that many say it is as it suffers from being the most un-Troma Troma film ever. The effects and make-up are really good, but at the end of the day this is just another generic action film just like the ones Hollywood spits out every year.
Read moreThe Beverly Hills Cop franchise isn't the best franchise out there, but there are two very solid films here. The first film is a classic, one of the biggest R-rated films and comedies of all time. The second film is a solid action film that doesn't forget its roots. The third film is an utter trainwreck that shouldn't …
