I have been doing this site for 10 years, as of today (4/16/2026), and I wanted to take a look back at my collecting history.
I started collecting on Christmas Day 1991. This was the year my parents bought me my first VCR. I already had a 13-inch black and white TV, so the VCR expanded what I could watch in my bedroom. My family collected films before that, consisting mostly of Disney and family films. 1991 was when I started MY collection. A collection that has grown throughout the last 35 years.

After collecting VHS for four years, I was able to talk my parents into buying me a Laserdisc player. My local video store, R&R Video (later Lion Video), rented out Laserdiscs. I saw them there all the time and wanted to get a player. I am a huge fan of film, obviously, and I wanted to be able to watch a film the way it was supposed to be seen (most Laserdiscs were released in that film's original aspect ratio. Especially ones released in the mid to late 90s.), so I started working my parents. I did a ton of research which I presented to them. The player, which they got from Best Buy, cost 300 bucks but I assured them it was worth it.
The day of my birth came and they had actually bought it. They told me they couldn't get me any discs because they had to spend the money on the player. So, for the first two weeks I had the player, I had to rent all my discs. When the day came for me to pick out some discs, my mom took me to Suncoast Video where I would pick out two discs: PENTATHLON and SPITFIRE. I have written about these first Laserdiscs here

After a few years of collecting Laserdiscs, I received a DVD player for Christmas along with LETHAL WEAPON 4. Man, I fell in love with DVD right away and would buy discs whenever I could. DVDs were very expensive so I had to choose wisely like I did with Laserdiscs. After a while the price of DVDs came down and I started buying more. I would actually go to Best Buy, Circuit City, or Target to get the latest releases. I have a pretty big collection and it is always growing.
I have also been collectiong Blu-rays and 4K Blu-rays for many years as well. I have amassed quite a collection over the years and am always on the lookout for the next disc to add to my collection.
I started this site on April 16th, 2016. Well, technically, I started it on the 13th, but I was only migrating reviews I had written years before to the new site so I don't count that. The first new review I posted was on the 16th, CRIMSON PEAK was the start of what I have been doing for all these years.

| My first Blu-ray Review |
The first reviews I did were called JUST THE FEATURES where I would review just the special features along with including pictures of the packaging. I did this because most reviews I have read don't say much about the special features and I wanted to make sure that wasn't always true. I did this few the first six months or so until I decided to do full on reviews where I would not just cover the special features and packaging but also the picture and sound. The first film I did a full review on was THE PUNISHER.
Since then I have reviewed a ton of films. I have reviewed releases from various companies like Arrow Video, 88 Films, Full Moon Features, and Retromedia. I have reviewed DVDs, Blu-rays, 4K Blu-rays, films, and even a book. I love what I am doing with this site and try to spread the love I have for home video to everyone who reads.
I want to thank everyone who has ever visited this site. I truly appreciate each amd every one of you. I hope any of the reviews you have read may have helped with a purchase you made or just entertained you. I know not everyone likes my reviews or see things the way that see them, but I am still thankful for them because they didn't have to read anything but took the time out of their day to give me a chance. I plan on doing this site for as long as I can and I hope you join me on this home video journey.
