Who's Gonna Believe A Talking Head? Re-Animator: Limited Edition (Arrow Video) Blu-ray Review + Screenshots ***Updated***

Image
Re-Animator is an all time classic in the horror genre. Here was a film that giving us the goods while making us laugh. There were not many horror films that did that. It also helped that the film was so gory that the filmmakers didn't even submit it to the ratings board because they knew they would get a "X" rating (the precursor to the NC-17 rating). The filmmakers released the film unrated and this turned out to be a wise choice.  Re-Animator is an amazing film and it finally has an amazing blu-ray to compliment it.

One of the Better Aliens Knock-Offs: Creepoziods (Full Moon) Blu-ray + Screenshots

Image
Creepozoids is a fun as hell monster movie that knows how to show us a good time. The creature effects are a bit hokey and the acting is a bit odd at times, but director David DeCoteau is sure in his abilities to deliver the film that we came to see. Creepozoids delivers on every promise it makes and doesn't shy away from showing us the monster either.

From the "This Should Have Been Great" Files: Troma's War (Troma) Blu-ray Review + Screenshots

Image
Troma's War is not the masterpiece that many say it is as it suffers from being the most un-Troma Troma film ever. The effects and make-up are really good, but at the end of the day this is just another generic action film just like the ones Hollywood spits out every year.

The Import Corner Presents: Beverly Hills Cop 3-Movie Collection (U.K. Import) Blu-ray Review + Screenshots

Image
The Beverly Hills Cop franchise isn't the best franchise out there, but there are two very solid films here. The first film is a classic, one of the biggest R-rated films and comedies of all time. The second film is a solid action film that doesn't forget its roots. The third film is an utter trainwreck that shouldn't have been made in the first place.

This collection is a nice way to have the films together. Watch the first two, skip the third, and you will be very happy.

A Terrible Start to a Week: Stormy Monday (Arrow Video) Blu-ray Review + Screenshots

Image
Stormy Monday is a beautiful film that does nothing to convince the audience that it is all that good. In fact, the film is pretty bad, and not even the actors can save the film.

His Name Is Dolemite And F*ckin Up Motherf*ckers Is His Game: Dolemite (Vinegar Syndrome) Blu-ray Review + Screenshots

Image
Whenever anyone thinks of Blaxploitation, they think of crappy filmmaking, horrible acting, and the boom mic showing up in every shot. While some other Blaxploitation films have these "qualities" to them, the film that they are referring to is Dolemite and, while you think that the film is terrible, it has more heart than a lot of the studio funded Blaxploitation films. Readers of this site know that heart goes a long way with me and Dolemite has it in surplus.

Alienator (Scream Factory) Blu-ray + Screenshots

Image
Fred Olen Ray is a filmmaker that makes all kinds of films. Lately he has been making Steven Seagal films that are sequels to films that came out in the 90's. Still, the man is not above making garbage and Alienator fits that bill. I found the film to be really, really boring with some of the blandest and most annoying characters that feel like they got lost on their way to a really bad slasher film.
