The Secret of the Sword

"I've got that flying horsey in my sight" He-Man & the Masters of the Universe was a massive hit toy line and a massive hit animated TV series. He-Man ruled the airwaves in the 80s and it would only make sense to not only make a feature length theatrical film but also a new spin-off series with a new character! The film follows Price Adam/He-Man as he embarks on the search for his twin sister. Turns out that a new villain by the name of Hordak had kidnapped He-Man's twin sister shortly after birth and taken here to another dimension on a planet called Etherea. No one knows what happened to the little girl, Adora. But, with this information and with a magical sword, He-Man is on his way to find Princess Adora.  What much can be said of "The Secret of the Sword", it's not necessarily a film for cinemas as there is nothing special enough about the movie for it to warrant a theatrical release, other than the length of the film. New Bruce Blus Coming This December

Shout Factory has announced that they will be releasing The Big Boss (Fists of Fury) and Fist of Fury (The Chinese Connection) on blu-ray (for the second time) this December.

The first blus that Shout! gave us a few years back were not very good. The picture and the sound were pretty bad. This was not Shout!'s fault as they were releasing what was given to them.

Since then, company is Hong Kong has done 4K remasters of the first two Bruce Lee films. These remasters have already been released in Hong Kong and they look magnificent. I was hoping that I would not have to import them (I have nothing against importing, I do it all the time, but I would rather give my money to a US company.) and now Shout! is giving bringing them to us.

The specs and special features have not been announced yet, but I have heard that there will be all new commentary tracks as well as some other goodies.

Both discs will be released on December 6th.

Fists of Fury:

FISTS OF FURY (aka THE BIG BOSS) stars martial arts legend Bruce Lee as Cheng Chao-an , a young man that moves to Thailand to take a job in an ice factory. One day, when a block of ice is cracked open, two co-workers find out that something is being smuggled inside the blocks of ice. The two workers disappear without a trace and Cheng starts to investigate their disappearance. He soon finds out that the factory is smuggling heroin and comes face to face with the Big Boss for a climatic showdown.

The Chinese Connection:

Chen Zhen (Bruce Lee) returns to Shanghai to attend the funeral of his teacher. He vows to uncover what happened to his mentor and all signs point to the local Japanese Marital Arts school who have been taunting and insulting the students of the Ching Wu School. The local police won't do anything about the death, so Chen decides to restore honor to his school and his teacher by bringing down some furious vengeance on the Japanese school.
